Castle Rock art enthusiasts gathered for drinks, food and local art on Jan. 23 at an event hosted by the newly formed Castle Rock Art Cooperative. Three artists showcased their work — Paul Price, Matt Rinn and John Asselta.
Price and Asselta displayed their steampunk sculptures, while Rinn highlighted his work with wood and natural elements.
Nick Lucey, president of the art cooperative, was excited to see the packed room at downtown food hall Ecclesia. The art cooperative is virtual, meaning it doesn't have a gallery but connects artists online. They plan to host several events like the one on Jan. 23, Lucey said.
“I think this is kind of proof that this has been a long time coming,” he said of the organization. “I think people have been waiting for something like this.”
