The Chevrolet Traverse first went into production for the 2009 model year, with the second generation arriving for the 2018 model year. A refresh for the nameplate was lined up for the 2021 model year, but, as was the case for many vehicle launches, the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the refresh back to the 2022 model year. Nevertheless, the 2022 Chevy Traverse is already announced, and we know exactly what the SUV will look like with regard to exterior styling. That said, we also have an alternative style on deck, as seen in the following rendering.
This alternative 2022 Chevy Traverse rendering comes to us from GM Authority Brandon DeJean, who took it upon himself to draw the SUV with a few unique touches.
“The styling still has some Blazer cues, but also takes cues from the new Tahoe and Suburban,” DeJean tells GM Authority. “I think it does a good job at bringing the styles together.”

Indeed, the most prominent differences between the new 2022 Chevy Traverse rendering and the official refresh can be seen in front. While both vehicles sport thin upper signature lighting, the rendering uses shorter, sharper elements, while the underlining body components stretch further into the front grille section. The rendering also offers up large forward-facing lighting elements lower in the bumper, similar to the new Blazer and Trailblazer, while the grille section is blacked-out and comes with wide horizontal slats for the insert.
Moving towards the profile, we find the rendering also sports a good amount of black trim, while lower styling lines enhance the SUVs wheel arches and forward-leaning rake.
