KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Paige Clark is set to walk across the stage at Neyland Stadium this Mother’s Day weekend.
While working on her nursing degree at the University of Tennessee and tackling clinical hours, Clark served as a nursing ambassador and also competed for Miss Knoxville U.S.A.
On top of those obligations, she also worked at the Comedy Barn Theatre and the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Clark says her motivation to do it all came from her family, and making sure she could help her grandmother keep her house after her grandparents divorced.
“No one else was able to help my grandmother with the house besides me. Honestly I did not know what I was getting into when I signed a mortgage at 19 years old. Looking back on it now I wouldn’t trade anything for it,” shared Clark.
While working two jobs to help pay the bills, the U.T senior says she studied in-between clogging performances and sacrificed a lot of free-time with friends.
“I guess people don’t really understand the amount of work load I was under mentally and physically. No one understood that I needed to be doing something every hour of the day to get things done,” says Clark.
Finally making it to graduation day, Clark says juggling all of this while getting her degree has taught her more about herself.
“I never knew I was capable of doing something like this, this past four years, and with everything happening. It’s really like and awe moment,” says Clark.
After graduation her schedule isn’t slowing down.
She’s furthering her education online with Johns Hopkins University and preparing to take the National Council Licensure Exam.
After that, she will begin work as a pediatric nurse at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
Clark says her dream job is to assist with Children Cardiology.
