The second season of And Just Like That..., the Sex and the City reboot series, just premiered last week. There will be eleven episodes in this season, which will feature the return of John Corbett's Aidan, and a brief cameo by Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Fans are already wondering: Is this the last we're going to see of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda?
HBO has not announced yet whether or not Sarah Jessica Parker and co. will return for a third season of And Just Like That..., but based on the popularity of the show, there's a good chance it could come back.
The OG Sex and the City premiered 25 years ago, and in the decades since, there have been two films plus the currently airing reboot series. "If we had tried to do Sex and the City now without any of the changes we made, it wouldn't have been current in my mind. It wouldn't have been anything to argue about. There wouldn't have been a change to debate," showrunner Michael Patrick King said.
He adds, "When Sex and the City was good, we showed four individuals all experiencing different versions of the same question, which is, how do you fulfill yourself? That's what we're doing now with even more characters."
In addition to Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), new characters include Seema (Sarita Choudhury), Che (Sara Ramirez), Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), and Nya (Karen Pittman). If And Just Like That... is renewed for a third season, we would likely see all of them reprise their roles.
