It’s Labor Day weekend, so you know what that means — L.A. Fleet Week is here.
But this year will have a twist: Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Fleet Week, which the previous four years has drawn as many as 250,000 visitors to San Pedro and Wilmington over the three-day weekend, had to go online only.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to take in. But it does mean folks will need to enjoy in the customary U.S. Navy ship tours, concert performances and other military activities from in front of a computer screen.
Fleet Week, which officially began Friday, Sept. 4, will broadcast the events — some of which will be pre-recorded videos — on all of its social media channels. Just search for “L.A. Fleet Week” on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
