Wine Country and California wildfires: Here’s what we know - San Francisco Chronicle

Wildfires are burning again in Wine Country, threatening communities in Sonoma and Napa counties and forcing evacuations in areas that were hit hard by the 2017 fires.

Below is a roundup of Northern California’s biggest, most destructive fires, along with critical information about evacuation zones and respite centers. The list will be updated as new information becomes available. Additional information is available on The Chronicle’s Fire Map & Tracker.

• Counties affected: Napa, Sonoma

• Burning since: Sept. 27

• Size: 11,000 acres

• Containment: 0%

• Includes: Shady and Boysen fires believed to be spot fires from the Glass Fire

• Damage: Numerous homes and businesses have been destroyed. According to sources on the ground, Chateau Boswell Winery and Black Rock Inn have been overtaken by the blaze. Cal Fire does not yet list any damaged structures, injuries or fatalities on its fire incident page.

Zogg Fire

• Counties affected: Plumas, Butte

• Burning since: Sept. 27

• Size: 15,000 acres

• Containment: 0%

• Damage: None yet reported by Cal Fire as of 10:30 am on Sept. 28.

Creek Fire

• Counties affected: Fresno and Madera

• Burning since: Sept. 4

• Size: 304,604 acres

• Containment: 39%

• Damage: 855 structures destroyed, 71 structures damaged, according to Cal Fire

North Complex

• Counties affected: Plumas, Butte

• Burning since: Aug. 18

• Size: 306,135 acres

• Containment: 78%

• Fatalities and injuries: 15 confirmed fire personnel and civilians, 2 injuries, according to Cal Fire

• Damage: 2,342 structures destroyed, 113 structures damaged

Dolan Fire

• Counties affected: Monterey

• Burning since: Aug. 18

• Size: 128,417 acres

• Containment: 71%

• Fatalities and injuries: On Sept. 8, 14 firefighters were forced to deploy their shelters as the fire rushed toward them, hospitalizing three of them. No fatalities have been reported, according to InciWeb.

• Damage: 14 structures destroyed, 4 structures damaged

August Complex

• Counties affected: Mendocino, Humboldt, Trinity, Tehama, Glenn, Lake, Colusa

• Burning since: Aug. 16

• Size: 878,470 acres

• Containment: 45%

• Includes: Doe Fire

• Damage: 51 structures destroyed, 5 structures damaged, according to Cal Fire
