Under the hood, the Ford Maverick is expected to be offered with the same 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines as the Bronco Sport. In the Bronco Sport, these units produce 181 hp and 245 hp and are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Power will be sent to the front wheels, but an optional AWD system will also reportedly be available. Following the leak from Ford's Mexico plant, there's a good chance the Maverick will debut early this year and go on sale by the end of the year. When it does, expect it to cost around $20,000, making it Ford's most affordable pickup truck yet.
