Avalanche Vs. Blues Recap: *Full Sixty Cliche Here* - St. Louis Game Time

Game Highlights:

First Period - The Avalanche were the first team on the board tonight. Despite the hot start from the Blues, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare put one past Jordan Binnington. The Blues failed to clear the puck out of the Avs offensive zone. Despite the fact that there were three Blues sweaters near the puck along the boards, the Avs player still won the puck. The puck made it to the middle of the ice to where Bellamare scored. Not great Bob whoever you are.

Around five minutes later Vince Dunn tied the game at one. The Blues were on the power play and the second unit was on the ice. Mike Hoffman and Tyler Bozak moved the puck around a bit. Bozak then made a slap pass to Dunn who tipped the puck past surprise starter Devan Dubnyk.

David Perron scored to make it 2-1...What? He didn’t? Oh right the ref had a case of premature whistleazation. So goal didn’t count and the Blues and Avs were tied after one.

Shitty Second Period...Unless you’re an Avs fan - J.T. Compher scored less than three minutes into the period. Compher skated right in and cleaned up the loose puck in front of the net. Literally untouched. Nice job everybody.

The Avs added to their lead with a power play goal. Just 12 seconds into said power play, Mikko Rantanen launched a one timer and scored.

A wide open Brandon Saad gave the Blues a sad or Saad if you wanna go full bad pun. Saad scored from the slot to give the Avs their third goal of the second.

Third Period - Mike Hoffman scored twice in the final frame and the Blues resembled a hockey team again for twenty minutes. Hoffman’s first goal almost wasn’t a goal. Thankfully they reviewed it and it was ruled a good goal. The puck had already crossed the goal line before Dubnyk knocked the net loose.

Hoffman’s second goal came on the power play. David Perron found Hoffman open for the one time shot.

The Blues had their chances, but the second period sunk them. That and for the love of all that is everything...Someone please tell this team to shoot the puck. Too many passes boys. The Blues play the Coyotes on Saturday in a very important matchup.

Despite all the passing from the Blues final shots on goal were 34-28 in favor of them.

The Blues held the Avs to just one power play goal on three chances.

Despite taking 20 minutes off, this game was winnable. Or hell they could’ve at least gotten it to overtime.
