BAY CITY, MI -- Lines swelled Friday afternoon to more than 150 people as they waited to shop at the newly opened Hashish Boyz in Bay city.
Hashish Boyz, located at 305 N Euclid Ave in Bay City, celebrated its grand opening Friday afternoon with nearly 20 vendors, food, music, as well as a ceremonial ribbon cutting to commemorate the event.
Although the business has had the Bay City location licensed for almost two years, Hashish Boyz Chief Operating Officer Rami Kirma said they opted to push their opening back until they were able to provide the best service and product for its customers.
Kirma feels the business is well supported and welcomed in Bay City.
“We felt like this was home,” he said. “They welcomed us with open arms.
“When you get treated like that in any municipality in this industry, as highly regulated as it is, you want to hold onto that kind of partnership.”

The support extends to the local cannabis community in and around Bay City.
Marijuana influencer James Batt believes opening stores like Hashish Boyz benefits those who are part of the cannabis community and the community as a whole.
“I think seeing this community grow is just an amazing thing,” said Batt. “People should be excited.”
“This is not something that’s going away,” he said, adding, “it’s developing and continuing to grow.”
Brandon Dabish, Hashish Boyz CEO and founder, noticed the community support and hopes it will help reduce negative stigmas around marijuana.
“It’s definitely embraced, and people welcome it,” said Dabish, “day after day, weeks, months, years, and eventually there won’t be a stigma.”
