TOKYO (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Shock waves in the pool and on Twitter as sportsmanship shined bright in Tokyo.
Lydia Jacoby, 17, captured the gold medal in the women's 100 meter backstroke.
As her family cheered her on back in Alaska, her teammate, gold medalist Lilly King, landed bronze.
King was favored to take home the gold in the event, but that didn't stop her from congratulating her teammate like a champ.
