Trey Anastasio Releases New Song, "I Never Needed You Like This Before" - jambands.com

Adding to his week-long creative streak, Phish’s Trey Anastasio has shared yet another new song via social media.

The new cut, dubbed “I Never Needed You Like This Before,” marks the guitarists fourth new song released in as many days, following up “When The Words Go Away,” “Lost in the Pack” and “Timeless.”

Songwriting duties for “I Never Needed You Like This Before” were fulfilled by Anastasio, Tom Marshall and Scott Herman; the tune is arguably the most fully-formed of Anastasio’s recent releases with a full backing track, vocals and audio effects, as well as a searing guitar solo.

“I duck taped my UE boom and my phone to the closet door for this one,” Anastasio wrote alongside the video. “Desperate times.”
