As the Boston Celtics edge ever closer to the start of the 2021-22 NBA season and the players they will use once games count, we get an increasingly clearer idea of who this team is, and more specifically, who will be on the floor with whom.

But what would this iteration of the Celtics ‘ideal starting five look like? Which players make sense when the ball is tipped off — and will they be on the floor together to close the game as well? In years past, it has been easier to identify the five best players on the team, but this season is not so easy.
